Those black streaks running down your roof aren't dirt. That's algae, a bacteria called Gloeocapsa magma, and it feeds on the limestone filler in your shingles. Left alone it spreads, holds moisture against the roof, and shortens the life of your shingles.

We clean it off with a soft wash. That means zero pressure on the roof surface. We apply a cleaning solution that kills the algae at the root, let it dwell, then rinse. The streaks come off and they stay gone a lot longer than if you just blast the surface.

Here's why pressure washing a roof is a mistake. High pressure strips the protective granules off your shingles. Those granules are what shield the shingle from sun and weather. Once they're gone the shingle ages fast, and on most roofs pressure washing voids the manufacturer's warranty. We never put high pressure on a roof. Soft washing is the only safe way to do it.
